No matter what trials we face in this life, whatever struggles we find ourselves up against, regardless of the countless disappointments, and in spite of the circumstances, there is hope. When it seems that we are all alone and no one cares if we even exist, when life in and of itself seems pointless, it is here that we find our greatest strength. For through our weakness, His strength is made perfect. For those who have found themselves at the end of their sanity, the Bible offers the greatest of good news. It is a story of love, and compassion, of understanding and redemption, of one man whose love for mankind was greater than the fear of torture, pain and death. However, this was no ordinary man. This was a man whose coming was prophesied for thousands of years, and whose very presence has changed the course of mankind forever. This man would be born of a young virgin mother, conceived by the very spirit of God. He would live a perfect, sinless life and finally lay down his life as payment for our debt. Our sin debt which we could never pay. If this was the final chapter of the story it would be miraculous enough, but the greatest part has yet to come. The prophesies that foretold of this man said that he would overcome sin and death to bring us new life. So, just as foretold, he was crucified the evening before the Sabbath, a holy day. His body was wrapped in burial clothes and sealed in a tomb. Three days later the greatest miracle of all occurred. The stone that sealed the grave rolled away, and this man walked out from his tomb. The prophesies were fulfilled, this Son of God had overcome death itself. Now the story continues as this man walked the earth and taught his followers for several weeks before yet another miracle occurred. One day as he taught his followers he gave them a charge and ascended into heaven. The crowds literally watched him disappear into the sky. Before he left he gave them a promise that he would return for his followers. At this point you may be wondering what any of this has to do with your everyday struggles. Well, the truth in the matter is that when mankind as a race disobeyed God, we fell from his grace. We have been cursed to live our lives struggling to get by. The greatest news of all is that God made a provision for our sin. You see we cannot pay for the sins we have committed, and for that we are condemned to death and hell. But God's provision came in the form of a man named Jesus who made the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified as the blood sacrifice for our sins, and rose from the dead on the third day. The Bible tells us that Jesus lives even today and is going to return someday and that he has made payment for our sins to God on our behalf. He is waiting for us to accept that gift. This gift will do several things for you: 1. Save you from eternity in hell paying for your sins 2. Give eternal life in heaven with Jesus 3. Give a help mate and comforter in this life in the form of the Holy Spirit which will come and make his home in your heart 4. Establish a very real personal relationship with God, your heavenly father. The Bible is very clear that God has provided all these things and more for those who accept this gift of salvation. Al we need to do is ask. If you would like to accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, say this prayer in your own words: Father, I know that I am a sinner and that the penalty for my sin is death. I believe that Jesus was the perfect sacrifice to pay for my sins. That he took my place on the Cross. I turn from my sins and accept the gift he has provided for me. Please send your Holy Spirit to live in my heart so I may learn to serve you. Thank you for being my Savior, Amen If you prayed this prayer and truly believe then rest assured that God is faithful to forgive our sins.
